Bauchi Speaker calls for active participation of youth and women in politics.

Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Abubakar Y. Sulaiman has called for active participation of youths and Women in politics for nation building and development
He made the call when he received leadership of Leadtots Development Initiatives on an advocacy visit.
The Speaker stated that youth are the backbone of the development of every society, hence their participation in politics and election into Parliaments.
According to him, when young people occupy leadership positions especially in the Legislature, good results are assured because youth have a lot of ideas on nation building.
He said that Bauchi House of Assembly has been a youth friendly and supports all policies and initiatives that will enhance their life and motivate them to join politics.
While commending the leaders of the Forum for providing a platform of mentoring youth and women, the Speaker appreciated the contributions they are making in enhancing the qualitative participation of young persons in parliament and in the decision making process.
Earlier, the Executive Director of Leadtots Development initiative Nicholas Oshojah Afeso said the forum is a youth and women focused non Governmental Organization that uses innovative approaches to empower and amplify the voices of young people and women in sustainable development.
While commending the state assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman for its continues commitment to good governance and community development, Nicholas Oshojah has proposed a partnership with the state assembly to co-host the youth democracy dialogue in Bauchi.
He said the partnership is aimed at engaging youth in policy discussions that directly impact their lives.
