BAUCHI COMMUNITY DECELOMENT FORUM DISTRIBUTES RAMADAN PALLIATIVE TO THE VULNERABLE

The Unguwar Jaja Development Forum in Bauchi Local Government has distributed food items as palliatives to support orphans and vulnerable individuals during the fasting month of Ramadan.

The distribution was carried out by the forum’s Orphans and Vulnerable Subcommittee in Unguwar Jaja, Bauchi metropolis.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Unguwar Jaja Development Forum, Sheikh Muhammad Sani Haris, stated that the initiative was made possible through contributions from community residents, and emphasized that the effort was aimed at alleviating hardship and improving the well-being of orphans and vulnerable individuals.

Sheikh Haris highlighted the forum’s achievements, including the construction of a 500-meter culvert in the area, and reaffirmed the forum’s commitment to fostering unity, reducing hardship, and ensuring sustainable development within the Jaja community.

The forum, according to Sheikh Haris, operates through eight committees, including those dedicated to security, education, dispute resolution (Zauren Sulhu), health, self-service, and the orphans and vulnerable subcommittee.

He called on wealthy individuals to support the less privileged and curb the increasing trend of vulnerable individuals seeking food from affluent households.

He also commended the Ward Head of Unguwar Jaja, Mallam Shuaibu Adamu, for his continuous encouragement and contributions toward achieving the forum’s objectives.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Orphans and Vulnerable Subcommittee, Hon. Haruna Isah Jaja, explained that the committee was inaugurated a week before Ramadan, and this distribution marks the first phase of their efforts. He assured that the committee would continue to support the needy, with the second phase focusing on distributing Sallah clothing to orphans and vulnerable individuals.

Beneficiaries of the palliative distribution expressed gratitude and prayed for the forum’s continued success in uplifting the community.

Items distributed include rice, maize, millet, sugar, and spaghetti, 600 orphans and vulnerable individuals.
