Bauchi Assembly advocates for implementation of Financial Autonomy to the legislature.

Bauchi State House of Assembly has advocated for the implementation of financial autonomy to the legislature.

The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Abubakar Sulaiman was speaking when he received delegation from the national Assembly Service Commission on a 3-day working visit to the state.

Abubakar Sulaiman, thanked them for the visit, saying the interaction is pivotal to the actualization of enshrined goals through which a lots of gaps will be closed and challenges of Assembly services is resolved.

The speaker revealed that, the house is currently studying a report submitted to it by the financial autonomy Committee and assured the delegation that all issues and concerns raised will be taken care of.

Commenting on the harmonize scheme of services, the speaker said Bauchi State House of Assembly is ever ready to domesticate all documents from the national Assembly Service Commission for effective service delivery.

Abubakar Sulaiman, said presently some staff are attending interview to formalize their movement to the state Assembly and the assembly is recruiting new staff to fill the gap in the workforce.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the national Assembly Service Commission Engineer Ahmed Khadi Amshi, said they were in Bauchi to discuss and interact with staff of the state Assembly service Commission on the bureaucratic nature of parliamentary system.

Engineer Ahmed Khadi Amshi, maintained that, there are alots of challenges confronting states assembly service commissions which need an urgent assistance to improve the situation.

The delegation during the working visit has inspected some projects sites in Bauchi metropolis, including the the ongoing construction of Flyover and international conference centre, where they commended governor Bala Mohammed for giant strides in executing developmental projects in Bauchi State.
