BASEPA calls for the provision of effective water ways to control outbreak of diseases.

Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency (BASEPA) has emphasized the need for households in the state to ensure proper provision and effective use of water channels to control flooding and outbreak of diseases.

The Chairperson, BASEPA Environmental Mobile Court, Magistrate Laraba Hamisu hinted this when she led the agency’s enforcement team on monitoring compliance over a water way case brought before her involving five households at Tudun Salmanu quarters, Bauchi.

Magistrate Laraba Hamisu while conducting round the affected houses, observed partial move for compliance by some of the parties and called for regular evacuation of gutters for free flow of water and hygiene environment.

To this end, the Chairperson of BASEPA Environmental Mobile Court directed the agency’s enforcement team to give fresh instructions to the affected house owners with specifications and time frame to do the needful before the next sitting of the court.

She used the medium to commend some of the houses visited for imbibing the culture of clean and hygiene environment.

The households involved in the case are Sabo Sulaiman Hassan, Nuru Jibrin, Danjuma Nata’ala, Ukasha Haruna and Kabiru Abubakar.
