BAHA works and transport committee embarks on inspection tour of roads project across Bauchi.

Bauchi State House of Assembly committee on works and transport has charged the supervising engineers of road construction across the state to ensure thorough supervision of road projects across the state.

The Chairman of the committee engineer Garba Adamu Kawu gave the charge when he led other members of the committee for an oversight function to some ongoing road construction sites in the state.

Engineer Garba Adamu said the essence of the committee’s viist is to fulfill its constitutional function of oversight by ensuring that the contractors abide by the terms of agreement reached before the award of the project.

He added that the members of the Committee understand the progress and challenges being faced by the construction firms in the discharge of their mandate.

While expressing satisfaction with level of work so far executed by the construction firms, the lawmaker urged them to discharge their duties with high sense of responsibility, to provide the benefiting communities with the required infrastructure for improved livelihood.

He commended Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed for awarding roads constructions across the state to better the lives of the citizens.

Some of the lawmakers during the visit challenged the construction firms to execute the work base on standard and specifications.

In their responses, the contractors handling the road projects promised to delivery quality and standard work within the stipulated time.

The committee during the visit inspected the ongoing Darazo-Gabciyari, the dualization of legal misau to Government Secondary School Misau, and the dualization of setraco to Katagum Emir’s Palace. .

Others are, the construction of Sa’adu Zungur University access road, the 27km Itas to Gadau road, dualization of Jama’are township road, Jama’are- Adamamu, Zigau- Beli road and the dualization of GSS Ningi to Gudduba as well as Miya-Sara-Soro road of Ganjuwa local government.
