BAHA approves over 96 billion naira state supplementary budget.
Bauchi State House of Assembly has approved ninety six billion, six hundred and seventy six million, five hundred and fifty thousand naira as the 2024 the state supplementary budget.
The passage of the budget is sequel to the adoption of the house committee on appropriation report during plenary.
The committee observed in the report that the bill seeks to among others, bridge gab in the 2024 approved budget allocation due to changes in economic conditions for unforeseen expenditures, provide additional funds for the ongoing or new developmental projects across the state.
The chairman of the appropriation committee Habibu Umar recommended the implementation of treasure single account should be given utmost priority to ensure that revenue generating MDAs remitted all their collections into the consolidated revenue fund.
Other recommendation of the committee he said, must performance report of the revenue generating MDAs or their revenue lines will not be budgeted for in the 2025 state budget.
He advised the state house to issue a letter of special commendation to the state commissioner and the permanent Secretary for ministry of works and transport for their outstanding presentation and defense of the ministry’s 2024 approved budget performance.
Meanwhile, the member representing Darazo Constituency in the state house of Assembly Builder Sa’idu Sulaiman Daraza has appealed to the state ministry for works and transport to eract speed breaker at Nahuntan Darazo village to regulate high speed of motorists plying the road.
The lawmaker made the appeal under matters of urgent public importance he presented during plenary.
He said the move became necessary following a motor accident that injured at least ten people in the village who are carrying their lawful business by the road side, due to high speed.
