ATBU Bauchi matriculates 4362 students for 2024/2025 academic session

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi has urged its students to promote modesty, respect, and professionalism and also emphasized the importance of avoiding destructive behaviors such as drug abuse and cultism.

The Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Ibrahim Hassan Garba made the call at the twenty twenty four twenty twenty five matriculation ceremony held at Yelwa Campus, Bauchi

The VC also encouraged them to be dedicated to their studies and explore passions to develop their talents with positive influences, and avoid bad company that can lead them astray.

He also implored them to make good use of the hostel and learning facilities which are designed to support their academic success and provide them with a comfortable and conducive learning environment as well as preserve them for future generations.

In an effort to strengthen ATBU relationship with host and neighbouring communities, the VC discovered a worrying situation that the highest qualification in the whole community is NCE and used the medium to call on the Bauchi State Government to intervene in the matter by way of awarding scholarships to Communities concerned in order to uplift them educationally.

He commended the offort of the Federal Government for establishing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and believed that the NELFUND plays a crucial role in enhancing access to quality education especially indigent students in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

According to him, with the rising cost of registration fees and educational materials, many students face financial barriers that hinder their academic progress.

Professor Ibrahim Hassan Garba therefore reminded the Matriculated students that ATBU is not just an institution but a community that values excellence, integrity, and responsibility and pledged commitment to providing them with a quality education to uphold the highest standards of behaviour and conduct.

He use the occasion to reaffirmed the university’s great and also attain it vision of becoming a Centre of excellence for the creation, transfer and application of scientific knowledge for the advancement of mankind in a friendly, interactive and multi-cultural environment.

the breakdown of admitted students to include Faculties of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology two hundred and seven, Engineering and Engineering Technology eight hundred and fifty four, Environmental Technology seventy and seventy three, management Sciences thee hundred and seventy, Science eight hundred thirty three, Technology Education three hundred forty seven,Veterinary Medicine thirty nine, Computing five hundred ninety nine, SPESSECE ninety eight and College of Medical Sciences two hundred and forty four.
