Gov Bala Mohammed presents operational vehicles to BAROTA.

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, has commended the efforts of the State Road Traffic Agency (BAROTA) in maintaining sanity on the state’s roads.
During a ceremony to hand over the operational machines to the agency, the governor expressed his satisfaction with the progress made by BAROTA in clearing pathways and roads, as well as reducing incumbencies and encroachments.
Governor Bala Muhammad acknowledged that the agency’s personnel, though small in number, have demonstrated a high level of commitment and dedication to their duties.
He praised their approach of persuading and educating motorists and businessmen, rather than resorting to brutality or persecution.
The governor also noted that the agency’s efforts have brought relief to innocent passing passengers and businessmen who were previously affected by the chaos on the roads.
The governor, however, cautioned that, there is still more work to be done to ensure that the state’s roads are completely free of traffic and assured that his administration will continue to support BAROTA in its efforts to maintain order and discipline on the roads.
Governor Bala Muhammad also used the occasion to appeal to the agency to reduce the penalties imposed on offenders, as he had received complaints that the fines were becoming too burdensome.
He emphasized the need for the agency to strike a balance between enforcing the law and showing compassion to those who may have inadvertently disobeyed the regulations.
