BAHA and Bauchi State Assembly Commission staff attends 2-days capacity building training.

Bauchi State House of Assembly and the state Assembly Commission in collaboration with Sahl human Resources Abuja have conducted a two-day capacity building training to parliamentary bureaucrats.
Declaring the workshop open, the Executive chairman of the Bauchi State Assembly Commission Alhaji Bappah Haruna Disina, said the workshop was organized to enhance the capacity of the parliamentary bureaucrats of the state assembly and assembly commission to provide effective legislative support services in law making, representation, oversight and general public engagements.
According to him, the objectives of the workshop would further expose the participants on the techniques of modern chamber proceedings, discuss the significance of parliamentary reports services in supporting legislative process.
Others he said include, equipping the participants with the state needed skills in bill processing, legislative report writing and other committee activities.
Alhaji Bappah Haruna Disina revealed that, the expected outcomes of the workshop is to ensure good governance and institutional development through quality lawmaking, effective oversight and purposeful representation.
The Executive Chairman of the state assembly commission hinted that,
Bauchi State legislature arm is saddle with the responsibility of law making, initiate debate, modify and approve new laws, delegated legislation regulations, scrutiny, holds government to account, examine and challenges government and make financial appropriation, authorize taxation as well as spending and confirmation of appointment from the executive and the judiciary.
He said all are geared to fast track and find tune the socio economic, political and cultural settings and bridge about developments as a community.
Bappah Disina noted that for the legislators to perform their duties effectively and efficiently, they must be technically equipped with the required human capital.
While appreciating the state governor and speaker of the state assembly for supporting the commission to carry out its constitutional responsibilities, appealed the participants to be patient and observant as well as apply the lession learnt in discharging their legislative duties.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, the permanent Commissioner one, state assembly commission, Alhaji Lawal Abubakar Baba Ma’aji, said the workshop would go along in equipping the commission and state assembly staff with the needed knowledge and information to effectively discharge their official engagements.
