BAUCHI STATE GOVERMENT LAUNCHES TREE PLANTING CAMPAIGN

The Executive Governor of Bauchi state Senator Bala Mohammed Abdullkadir Kauran Bauchi has Flagged off the 2025 trees planting campaign in Dass local government Area.
Represented by the State Commissioner ministry of Housing and Environment, Alhaji Danlami kawule , the governor, said they were in Dass to lunch the programme tagged one man one tree with the aim of reducing wind and flood disaster across the state.
Danlami kawule, assured of government’s commitment under the leadership of Senator Bala Mohammed, to extend the tree planting campaign to various communities across the state, adding that very soon his ministry will provide adequate portable water for the sustainable growth of the trees.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Chairman Dass local Government council, Comrade Muhammed Abubakar jibo , who was represented by his Deputy DR. isah ya’u Hanakuka lukshi, thanked the governor for coming up with the initiatives saying it will mitigate the climate change at the grassroots level.
Dr. Isa Hanakuka, therefore appealed to religious and traditional leaders to join hands with government for the sustainable of the programme and warned the general public to desis from cutting down of trees and to report anybody found exporting charcoal within and outside the local Government.
In his closing remarks, the Emir of Dass Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, express his gratitude to Almighty Allah for witnessing the historical event which according to him is timely approach, promise to extend the campaign to the grassroots levels on the dangers of illegal cutting down of trees , describing the act as having negative effect to the society such as wind disaster and shortage of rain among others.
