Bauchi State House of Assembly appeals to Join Action Committee of State Tertiary Institutions to suspend strike

Bauchi State House of Assembly has appealed to the aggrieved members of the Joint Action Committee of the academic and Non academic Staff unions of state state owned Tertiary institutions to suspend its ongoing strike to pave way for proper consultation and dialog with the state government for the interest of the state.
The House made the appeal at a stakeholders reconciliation meeting with the in respect of the ongoing strike action embarked upon by the state Joint Action Committee of the tertiary institutions.
Speaking to newsmen on the outcome of the meeting, the Chairman state assembly committee on education, Dr. Nasiru Ahmed Ala said the state tenth will be happy when JAC suspends the strike action for the development of the educational system in the state.
According to him, the house invited the state relevant education stakeholders for the dialog meeting because of the importance attached to the education sector with a view to finding lasting solution to the matter.
Dr. Nasiru Ala hoped that, after the meeting, the unions will call up the strike and due process would be follow to ensure the full implementation of the required COMPACAS and CONDTENDIS salary structure for Academic and Non Academic Staff of State tertiary institutions by the state government.
The Chairman education committee enjoined students of state tertiary institutions and their parents to exercise patients as well as pray for the state government and the unions to resolve the issue amicable.
He appreciated the state government for it commitment to resolve the issue for the advancement of education in the state.
The stakeholders present at the include, the state head of civil service, Special adviser civil services matters, Special advice to the state governor on education, representative of Ministry for higher education and regional integration, heads of state tertiary institutions, representatives of JAC and Bauchi State Lawmakers.
