British Red Cross in Nigeria pledges to work in synergy with relevant stakeholders in managing disasters in Bauchi.

The British Red Cross in Nigeria has pledged to work in synergy with relevant stakeholders to prevent disasters in the state.

The British Red Cross Country Manager in Nigeria, Mr Karsten Voigt , stated this when he visited some Emirs and traditional leaders of Bauchi with his entourage, accompanied by the State Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Umar Sa’idu.

Mr Karsten Voigt said the British Red Cross is working in close collaboration with the Nigerian Red Cross members in order to identify some major threats communities are facing so as to proffer a lasting solutions.

He revealed that most communities in Bauchi state are affected by flooding where he underscored the need to work with communities develop action plans in order to implement activities that will mitigate it’s effect to the people of the state.

The Country Manager of the British Red Cross for Nigeria, said without peace, there will be no development and described Bauchi as the most peaceful state in Nigeria.

Mr Karsten commended the state government and traditional leaders for their unwavering commitment in the area of security among others.

He noted that, the Nigerian Red Cross is working under difficult circumstances and called on wealthy individuals to support it activities for effective service delivery to the Communities
