State2state calls for proper implementation of Bauchi State Communication Strategy

State2state a USAID funded program has organized a two day meeting for Information Officers covering key Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Bauchi State on the outcome of the Bauchi State Communication Strategy.
During the meeting, information officers were advised to implement the modern communication strategy in their places of work in order to change the negative narratives especially in the key sectors of Education, health, WASH hygiene and Internally Generated Revenue of Bauchi State for better society.
The call was made by the State2state Communication Specialist Mr Israel Odiba, while presenting the objectives of the meeting and expected outcomesof the meeting.
Mr Israel Odiba said, the primary aim of the quarterly review meeting is to evaluate the communication strategy implementation impact in enhancing the government’s responsiveness to citizen needs.
The communication Specialist, highlited the benefit of two way communication which allows citizens to participate in the implementation of government policies and Programmes for good governance.
Mr Odiba, said at the end of the two day meeting, Information Officers were expected to understand the process of implementing the communication strategy through feedback and guidance that will yield a positive results in promoting hygiene, sanitation, routine immunization, antenatal care attendance to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality and to improve school girl child enrollment across the State.
He also encouraged information officers to raise awareness on budget process to ensure informed and inclusive governance.
Earlier in his welcome remarks ,the Director Information of the Ministry of Information and Communication Bauchi State, Alhaji Yakubu Mahmood Yero described the meeting as apt and enjoined the information officers to use the knowledge on the communication strategy to promote government policies and Programs, especially that has direct bearing effect on citizens.
Alhaji Yero, appreciated State2state in promoting good governance, transparency, inclusiveness, effectiveness and access to information in Bauchi State and assured that the ministry of Information would do everything possible to operate in accordance with international standard practice.
