The Chairman Special School Management Board visit three Special Schools in Bauchi.

The tour to the designated areas in Bauchi State, the team of top officials from the Board has today visited schools in Toro and Bauchi local government councils.

The delegation led by the Chairman of the Board Alhaji Babangida Barau Jibrin, was first at Government College Toro, Jibril Aminu Model Primary and Secondary School and Tambari Model Primary and Secondary School

After interacting with the Principals whose Schools are camped at the Venus, the Students and subsequent inspection of Dining Hall, the Chairman and members of his entourage proceeded to Tambari Model Primary and Secondary School terminated the tour at Jibril Aminu Model Primary and Secondary School.

In all the places visited the the Chairman delivered the message of the State Government which emphasized on the need for the students to try their best and score the basic requirements of entering higher institutions of learning.

According to the Chairman, the State Government is spending huge amount of money in Education Sector hence the need for best results.

said the employment and Promotions of teachers would be carried out in phases due to a paucity of funds.

The Chairman said there are several ongoing reforms to revamp the education sector in the state.

“We are determined to reform the sector holistically because we want to make Bauchi State a reference point in the education sector,

“There is already approved memo from the governor for us to start with the employment of teachers.

“This is not how we intend to be the best in the country. The money the government paid as a fee for West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) for students in the state will amount to nothing without teachers to teach them.”

Babangida said priority would be given to the employment of teachers in their catchment areas, noting that the state is not buoyant enough to pay peculiar allowances to those in rural areas

The Chairman said part of the education reform in Bauchi is to ensure uniformity in the school system.

“Upon resumption in office, I discovered that resumptiom of students across the state, both operate different day and time,” he said.

“We have been able to streamline this to a large extent and work to ensure all-around complaint across the state.”

In their several remarks, the principal Government College Toro Malam Adamu Aminu Ibarahim, Jibril Aminu Model Primary and Secondary School Malam Muhammad Abdurrahaman and Tambari Primary and Secondary School Bala Sambo and head master Muhammad Umar Sidi reiterated their commitment to support any programme aimed at improving the education sector in the state.

The Principals added that the Schools had sensitised parents and village heads to the importance of education, saying that they were also doing their best in the area of retention of children in education.

While congratulating Alhaji Babangida Barau Jibrin on his appointment as the chairman of SSMB, the principls urge him to take appropriate measures without comprise to achieve the set objectives

The entourage has the Full time member I, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar Ghabi, Full time member II, Alhaji Abubakar umar Sa’id, Directors, and Personnel Management Members of the Board among others.
