Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Mohammed Auwal Jatau says the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed requires support of private sector to resuscitate its ailing industries and create more business environments and opportunities.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the Governing Board of Bureau for Privatisation and Economic Reforms, Auwal Jatau, explained that the inauguration signals the beginning of another journey in the collective mandate to ensure full and functional Privatisation and Commercialisation of moribund enterprises.
He said the mandate and role of the Board, include among others, determining the political, economic and social objectives of Privatisation and Commercialisation of State owned enterprises, review from time to time, the socio-economic effect of the program of Privatisation and Commercialisation, make regulatory reforms in the economic sector of the state and to supervise the activities of the Bureau and to issue directions on the implementation of the Privatisation, Commercialisation and economic reforms programs.
The Deputy Governor assured that the Board of the State Bureau of Privatisation and Economic Reforms will compliment the efforts of the state government in creating employment opportunities for youths in the state and to produce goods and services for the teeming population.
The Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Mohammed Kashim who spoke on on behalf of members of the board, promised to justify the confidence reposed in them by working tirelessly towards the success of assignment.
