240 pupils are participating in the 39th edition of Qur’anic recitation competition in Jama’are LGA.

Two hundred and forty pupils in 6 categories are currently participating in the 39th edition of the 2024 Quranic Recitation Competition at Jama’are local government area of Bauchi state.

At opening ceremony, a University Don, Professor Salisu Shehu called on Muslims to uphold the Glorious Qur’an and use it as their guide in their daily affairs.

Professor Salisu Shehu who is the Vice Chancellor Al-istiqama University Sumaila Kano State, explained that who ever uphold the Glorious Qur’an will live a righteous and fulfilled life.

He urged the participants to recite the Glorious Qur’an for the sake of Allah not for worthy recognition.

Professor Salisu Shehu urged the Judges to be just and fair through out the competition.

Earlier, the State Chairman Bauchi state Quranic Recitation Competition committee Imam Hassan Usman Zango explained that the committee is committed to sustain and consolidate the successes recorded at both National and the International levels.

Imam Hassan Zango therefore urged the participants to put extra effort to maintain the statusco.

He commended the state government for the support accorded the committee as well as the cooperation from members of the committee which according to him, led to the successes recorded last year.

In a remark, the Emir of Jama’are Alhaji Nuhu Ahmad Wabi prayed Allah to guide the participants to be victorious in the future competition.

Declaring the competition opened, Governor Bala Muhammad of Bauchi state commended the Quranic Recitation Competition committee for the tireless efforts which has bring the state to the face of the world and urged them not to relent in their effort.

The Governor who was represented by the speaker Bauchi state House of Assembly Abubakar Sulaiman, called on the Judges to not to deviate from the rules guiding the competition.

He urged the participants to show doggedness for them to have chances to represent their various local governments and the state at large at the National and International levels.

The Governor used the forum to call on parents to enroll their children in schools to acquire education.

In a vote of thanks, the chairman Jama’are local government Inuwa Abdullahi Moisha thanked the state government for giving Jama’are Local Government the hosting right to host the competition.
